Thank you Daniel Smith

This past weekend, I put together a new worktable (http://bit.ly/67Jqvw) and rearranged all the furniture in my bedroom to accommodate it. I really like the new arrangement. However, it caused a lack of sleep the first night. Not from the exertion, but from the LIGHT. Lights that had been hidden by furniture were now showing.

I just don’t understand WHY manufactures think that every electronic device and every extension cord needs to have a LIGHT! My TV and DVD player have red lights that come on when the devices are turned off, and green when on. REALLY? I need this WHY? And several extension cords and every outlet strip have lights. Add to that my alarm clock (which obviously needs to have the numbers lit) and it was SO bright in my room it was unreal.

So before another sleepless night could go by, I grabbed my trusty can of Daniel Smith (http://www.danielsmith.com/) Black Gesso and started painting over the stupid lights. Works great! There were a couple, that I had to take heavy cardboard (the corner caps from the worktable packaging) and duct tape to get the light to quit showing. But for all the outlet strip lights, the gesso worked wonders.

Thank you Daniel Smith for giving me back the night.
